ACTA Conference Scholarships for WATESOL members
WATESOL full members are invited to apply for a scholarship to attend the 2018 ACTA Conference in Adelaide, this October. The scholarship, valued at$830, will cover the cost of a full registration, pre-conference workshop and the networking dinner. To apply for this, simply email email@example.com explaining how you will use your experience at the Conference to benefit WATESOL members (maximum one A4 page) by May 30th.
Secondary EaL/D Moderation Meeting – Wednesday 16 May 2018 4.00pm-6.00pm, Aranmore Catholic College
WATESOL will be providing an opportunity for Year 11 and 12 ATAR EAL/D teachers and those preparing for Year 11 ATAR EAL/D, to moderate synthesis assessments in order to gain more confidence in making consistent judgements. Teachers are encouraged to bring along work samples to use on the day. Please register your interest on the link below.
Translanguaging: Recognising, valuing and celebrating Aboriginal students’ language backgrounds in teaching and learning – Curtin University Conference 18 and 19 May
Moving between languages strategically and creatively is what happens when students ‘translanguage’.
This conference will support you to add translanguaging to your repertoire of good language teaching skills so as to improve the active uptake by Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal bilingual, bidialectal and multilingual students of the Western Australian Curriculum.
If you have a passion for making your classroom more inclusive of Aboriginal students and students of all cultures, this conference is for you.

MLTWA Conference Call For Papers
