English language skills unlock higher pay, wider job opportunities

An interesting survey conducted by Pearson indicates that English language learners from certain countries believe that mastery of English is crucial to both their careers and earning potential.

As reported by The PIE News, the participants of the study believed that English language proficiency was positively correlated to earning potential and job satisfaction, with a higher reporting percentage among advanced speakers compared to beginner speakers.

Concern was also expressed by participants about the future threat of AI to their jobs and a disconnect between the English language they learned in instructed settings and the communicative skills needed in their professional and personal lives.
