Help us to celebrate UN Day on Thursday 24th October. This marks the date the UN was officially created in 1945, when the UN Charter came into force.
The 2013 theme is Australia’s foreign aid and how it is helping implement the UN’s Millennium Development Goals. Guest speakers include Michael Sheldrick (Global Poverty Project) and Davina Hunter (Young UN Women Australia Perth).
A global celebration since 1948, UN Day provides an opportunity to display your support for peace, equality, environmental sustainability, human rights and the empowerment of women and youth. These are some of the core values being implemented through the 2015 Millennium Development Goals.
The reception will commence at 6pm at Grace Vaughan House, 227 Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park. Tickets are available from http://www.trybooking.com/DSRG $15 for non-members and $10 for UNAA WA members, students and concessions. If you would like further information, contact Ricardo Hernandez on 0435 498 964, or email email@example.com.
