EAL/D Students and OLNA Writing: From a Marker’s Perspective, is a brief insight into the common mistakes that EAL/D learners make when writing the OLNA and some realistic and simple fixes that will help students achieve a category 3. It also explains to teachers specific details and ratios that OLNA markers are bound by as well as marking keys and example texts.

Nicholas Edwards is a senior teacher and OLNA marker who has taught both lower secondary and senior secondary IEC students as well as years 7 – 12 mainstream students. He was previously the Literacy and Numeracy, SAER and Behaviour Management Specialist Teacher at Darling Range Sports College and currently works at Cyril Jackson IEC as the Maths EAL/D Teacher.
